In excerpts from his new book being serialized by sportsmail, the former England and Liverpool captain revealed he his thoughts towards what he perceived as favouritism from Rafa Benitez towards South American players.
He said: I used to think he favoured our Spanish-speakers. He was an especially big fan of South American players, which is fine. It caused no problem between us.
