The Decline Of Fc Barcelona : Making A Comeback! Part B
We have talked about the cause of the decline and corrected the impressions about tiki taka. Now we need to move forward. The board is already moving in this direction and our prayer is that it is different from the last president s tenure. In that light the club has already announced the signings of Luis Enrique as head coach and Marc-André ter Stegen as Victor Valdes replacement. On loan players Deulofeu and Rafinha have returned to the first team, Pinto has been released and Puyol has retired. A new era it seems is about to begin.
The departure of two captains will undoubtedly leave a big void in the dressing room. The new coach it seems has decided the new captians would be selected by a ballot by the players.
Further signings need to be made by the board while some players have to be sold.
The defense is clearly the biggest priority: two world class central defenders need to be signed ( Benetia and Marquinhos my preffered signings) a right back should also be signed as I believe the club should cash in on Dani Alves while they still can - 15m to 19m on Dani would be good buisness, a powerful mobile central midfielder should also be another priority ( one of Vidal, Pogba and Strottman my preffered signing) a centre forward simply called Llorente should be signed. The club should hold unto Alexis as he has showed he can score goals for us; while Pedro should be sold off he should bring in 25-35M in transfer fee.
Also Reina should be signed with him and Ter Stegen competing for the starting shirt.
The likes of Jonathan Dos Santos, Affelay, Cuenca, Bojan, Tello (with buy back clause), Sergi Roberto (with buy back clause) and Alex Song should be shown the door. While the likes of Mascherano, Alves and Fabregas can be sold for the right price. A water tight squad with not much between their quality should be formed for next season. We shouldn't have to take out alexis and bring in Tello while needing to change a match.

If the board were able to spend almost 100m Euros on Neymar alone a net spend of 46m to strengthen the team shouldn't be difficult.
In terms of tactics the signings of type of signing mentioned above should indicate the variations we need to imbibe in our playing pattern. The Centre back signings should give us security at the back at least make team work harder to score goals and not the types we ve seen scored against us this season: also signing two CD will allow Mascherano move back to his natural position as DM; the midfielder should give us mobilty and power in conjuction with Iniesta and Busquet s Tiki taka - Xavi has to be slowly withdrawn from first choice, he is just the logical one to make space for the incoming midfielder . While the Llorente would give us aerial prescence, hold up play, which would give us the added dimension of crosses. The rest is up to the new manager to motivate the whole group and match preparation, consistency and flexibility we last witnessed in '11.
