Lassana Diarra takes snap with Mamadou Sakho and Blaise Matuidi after France return

The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Portsmouth player made a return to the international set up with France after five years in exile.

The defensive midfielder who is known as 'Lass' was impressive on his return for France as the Euro 2016 hosts comfortably beat Armenia 4-0.

The Marseille midfielder last featured for Les Bleus when he won his 28th cap in an August friendly in 2010.

He was however back in action in Nice on Thursday night. He appears to have settled back in among the squad seamlessly, posing for a post-victory picture on Twitter with team-mates Mamadou Sakho and Blaise Matuidi.

He was highly impressive on the night as he sat in front of the two centre backs, Raphael Varane and Sakho, as he made fellow defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin watch from the bench until his second-half introduction.

Diarra's return is all the more special, as he spent the entirety of the 2014-15 season without a club due to a dispute with former club Lokomotiv Moscow.

He is now well placed to win a place on the squad for the European Championships on home soil coming up next summer.
