Messi ruled out for up to two months with knee injury

The four time Balon d'or winner did not make it through the first half against Las Palmas after he suffered a knee injury following a collision goalkeeper Javi Varas.

There is now a danger of the Barca and La Liga all time goal scorer missing the El Clasico on November 22.

The knee injury will see the Argentine ruled out  for up to two months.

Following the collision, Messi attempted to continue but failed to shrug off the knock, he was replaced by Barca coach Luis Enrique with Munir seven minutes later.

A statement on the club's twitter revealed the nature of the injury.

Messi has a tear in the internal collateral ligament of his left knee. He will be out for around 7-8 weeks
