Wenger dismisses Mourinho 'privilege' claim

The Frenchman and the Portuguese manager have been engaged in a war of words over the past week following the fallout from their last meeting which Mourinho's Chelsea side won.

The Chelsea coach had claimed the Arsenal manager receives preferential treatment from the Football Association, however Arsene Wenger has rejected such claims.

Following the ill-tempered derby clash between the two clubs last week Wenger hit out at referee Mike Dean after the game calling him "naive", he however escaped punishment from the FA.

Mourinho went on to claim the Frenchman enjoys  preferential treatment from the FA after the FA dished out a 3 match ban for Diego Costa which the Arsenal manager had called for.

Wenger has now responded to the claim by Mourinho, the Gunners boss said:

"I feel I have just done my job with the team and for our fans," he said. That's what you want.

"I've been in football for 30 years now, I know what is important is to play football well."

Wenger also revealed the boost received from Manchester City's surprise 4-1 defeat against Tottenham.

"Of course the City result was a boost, you want the distance to the leaders to be as minimal as possible.

"It's very tight and you're in danger everywhere in this Premier League."
