After chasing a deal for West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino all summer to no reward, Tottenham are hoping to finalise a £21.9million move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Son Heung-Min on Thursday after he was left out of their Champions League tie with Lazio on Wednesday night.
Although official reports states that the 23-year-old South Korea international has been nursing a bout of flu, Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller however confirmed Tottenham's bid but added: 'There is a request and there are talks. We will try to reach an agreement, but only under our conditions.'
Son, Asia's footballer of the year, represents a major coup for Daniel Levy.
