The 19-year-old Monaco star who is on the verge of a move to Old Trafford was an unknown player to Man Utd captain Wayne Rooney.
Rooney had to ask team mate Morgan Schneiderlin about his country man Anthony Martial when it was confirmed that the 19-year-old was nearing a move to Manchester United.
A lot of people have been surprised by the deal and Rooney was one of them. He approached Schneiderlin to find out more about his potential new strike partner.
"To be honest, yesterday [Sunday] on the plane, Wayne Rooney came to speak to me and asked me who Martial was, because the English press had started to speak."
"I told him he's a great player with great potential, who has played some good matches with Monaco last season and the the beginning of this.
"I told him he is technical and powerful. A little like Therry Henry, even if it's the press who are making that comparison."
The deal to take Martial to United will make him the most expensive teenager in the history of football.
