Tottenham teenager Dele Alli has been called up to England's senior squad by manager Roy Hodgson for the upcoming Euro2016 qualifiers.
The player who is eligible to play for Nigeria as he has roots from the African nation has been in impressive form for the North London side in the opening weeks of the season.
With England already guaranteed qualification for the tournament, it is an opportunity for the 19-year-old who was part of the U21 set-up last month to throw his name amongst those fighting to make the squad for Euro 2016 next year.
He is in line to make his senior debut in the matches against Estonia on October 9 and in Lithuania on October 12.
England manager Roy Hodgson spoke about why he called up the Tottenham midfielder:
'Dele Ali is the more offbeat one because he is so young, but we have been impressed. We have a lot of midfield players missing, but who knows where he will end up? He is an exciting talent.'
Alli was was signed from League One side Mk Dons last January with the player finishing the season with his old side on loan before finally joining the Tottenham squad this summer.
