Javier Mascherano reveals coaching ambition

The Argentina international who is noted for his leadership qualities wants to become a coach when he calls time on his playing career.

He said he believes being a coach is more complicated than being a player and also saying how he is drawn to the difficulty of training and teaching others

The Barcelona defender has stated that he is drawn by the challenge of passing on what he has learned throughout his career to younger players.

"I would become a coach," the Argentina vice-captain toldRadio Metro.

"As a player, things are easier, but it gets more complicated when you go on the other side.

"I want to pass on everything my coaches taught me. In football, things go full circle."

Mascherano, who was was named as Argentina's captiain to the World Cup in 2010, is noted for his tenacity, intensity and intelligence which is similar to Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone who was a similar player to the ex Liverpool man during his playing career.
