Argentina 2-2 Mexico: Messi salvages draw

Two goals from Argentina in the 85th and 89th salvaged an unlikely draw for the world no 1 team.

Thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi they were able to avoid defeat against the Mexicans who will rue letting a two-goal lead go.

The international friendly which was held at the AT&T Stadium saw Argentina face a Mexico side lining up a five man defence.

It was the Mexicans who took a first half lead through Javier Hernandez's coolly converted penalty after Otamendi was deemed to have fouled a Mexican in the box.

However all attempts by Argentina to get a goal of their own proved difficult as Moises Munoz in Mexico's goal was in fine form for much of the game, he kept on denying the  South Americans time and again before Hector Herrera doubled his side's advantage.

However an 85th-minute blunder from the goal keeper allowed Ezequiel Lavezzi to latch onto a long ball and square for Aguero to score what looked like a consolation goal.

However, Messi popped up with a brilliant finish moments later to secure the draw.
