After loosing out to Crystal Palace on the pitch last weekend Chelsea were not going to their fellow London club this time around as they gazumped them to a £4.5million deal for Reading centre back Michael Hector.
Crystal Palace were the first to register an interest in the Jamaica international on Tuesday morning, however following a late move for the 23-year-old they were able to sign him after outbidding Palace.
The player who is a Chelsea fan was scouted by Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo in recent weeks
He has been sent back on loan to the Madejski Stadium until the end of the season.
