Ikeme's heroic debut wins point for Oliseh in Tanzania stalemate

Wolverhampton Wanderers of England goalkeeper and Nigeria debutant Carl Ikeme was the difference on his international debut with the Super Eagles.

The match which was held in Dar es Salam, saw hosts Tanzania hold Nigeria to a 0-0 draw in Saturday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

In a match which saw the Super Eagles create few chances, debutant Carl Ikeme was the difference maker on the day.

He came up with several impressive saves to deny the hosts maximum points. The most impressive was an amazing save in the 67th minute which saw him deny Thomas Ulimwengu with a long stretch before scrambling to Mrisho Ngassa's follow-up which went by the post, with both shots coming from inside the six-yard box.

Nigeria who struggled without it's best attackers toiled for long spells against a well drilled Tanzania defence.

With Saturday's result, the Super Eagles now have four points and top group G pending the outcome of Sunday's game between Chad and Egypt with Tanzania bottom with a solitary point.
