Javier Hernandez ignores Louis van Gaal praises Sir Alex Ferguson in Manchester United message

The Mexican international who left United over the summer to join Bayer Leverkusen has hailed Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United chief scout Jim Lawlor. He however ignored current manager Louis van Gaal and his predecessor David Moyes.

The Mexican who was unearthed from Mexican outfit Guadalajara by Manchester United's scouting team - headed up by Lawlor.

He made an instant impression at Old Trafford in his first season at the club scoring 20 goals in 45 appearances.

He however slowly dropped down the pecking order after Ferguson left and Moyes and then Van Gaal came in.

He posted this message on social media:

'I want to thank Sir AlexFerguson and Jim Lawlor, the club staff, all the players I played with; but especially I want to thank all the Manchester United fans in the UK and all around the world for the incredible support I've had this past four years and all the best wishes they have for me in my new chapter!!'
