Nigerian Youngstar Kelechi Iheanacho fails to make Manchester City's Champions League squad

In a disappointing development, Nigerian youngstar Kelechi Iheanacho has been left out of Manchester City's Champions League squad.

The 18-year-old Nigerian failed to make the 21-man squad submitted by Manchester City to UEFA.

The reason given was that due to the maximum 17 foreign players allowed, no space was found for the Nigerian young star.

Iheanacho was just promoted to the first-team squad by manager Manuel Pellegrini this season.

He made a brief substitute appearance in Saturday's Barclays Premier League win over Watford.

Any hopes of him playing in the champions league rests on City qualifying for the latter stages and a space being available.
