According to Spanish news paper Marca, Madrid are hoping De Gea does not put pen-to-paper on a new deal with United as they hope to avoid dealing with Manchester United in the future.
Madrid s aim is to wait until De Gea decides where his future lies. They are hoping the goalkeeper does not renew his contract with the English side, so that he becomes a free agent on 30th June.
If that occurs the contract De Gea signed on Monday making him a Real Madrid player for the next six seasons would then become active.
With relations between the Real and United are in tatters as a result of the counter accusations that occurred on Tuesday both clubs are from friendly which has turned a previously fruitful transfer relationship very sour.
