Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has ended all speculations of joining Real Madrid by signing a new four-year contract with Manchester United, with the option to extend for a further year.

The 24-year-old Spain international, who arrived from Atletico Madrid in 2011 was expected to seal a return move to La Liga to join rival Real Madrid this summer.

However, following the move collapsing on transfer deadline day due to documents arriving late, De Gea has opted to sign fresh terms at the Premier League club.

For me Personally as a Manchester United fan this is the best news I've heard so far this summer because it means Manchester United can now challenge for titles this season knowing they have the best Goalkeeper in the team.

Manchester United as a team couldn't have asked for a better morale booster this year.

Looking at Manchester United now you've got to be impressed. They have the best goalkeeper in the world right now, Italy's best defender and player, Germany's captain, France's hottest prospect, the future of Netherlands, England's most prolific striker and an all round sound team.

Now LVG has his work to make this fantastic group of players work and develop as a team worthy of great things to come their way.

The deadwood has been chopped of now is the time to plant and groom so as to harvest greatness.
