The Blues poor start to the season took a turn for the worse as they were punished by a hat trick performance from Steven Naismith in 3-1 loss at Goodison Park.
Chelsea transfer target John Stones put in a commanding performance as things continue to look bleak for last season's league winners. They now look unlikely to retain their title as they picked up their third loss of the season.
Despite a superb consolation goal from Nemanja Matic, Chelsea had no answers posed by the same Everton side who lost 5-2 in last season's corresponding fixture.
The first goal came when Scottish forward Naismith who would have been on the bench were it not for an injury to midfielder Besic converted a header in the 17th minute off a fine cross from youngstar Galloway
He the second goal of the day just five minutes later, taking advantage of another poor defending from Branislav Ivanovic to bury a low shot past Asmir Begovic.
Nemanja Matic's 35-yard screamer shortly before half-time gave Chelsea hopes of a way back into the game but with the Stamford Bridge side unable to manage an equaliser.
Naismith got a deserved hattrick after he lashed unto a through-ball from Ross Barkley before firing home.
