Manchester United 3-1 Liverpool: Martial nets stunning debut goal

The Frenchman who was introduced as a second-half substitute rounded off the scoring at Old Trafford with a stunning solo goal to give Louis van Gaal's men all three points against their bitter rivals.

Daley Blind opened the scoring for the hosts with a precise goal early in the second half before saving his side on the other end with a tremendous goal-line clearance.

The second goal came through Ander Herrera who won and converted a penalty.

However, Christian Benteke pulled one back with a stunning overhead kick. The goal gave Liverpool the belief they could salvage a draw.

Such hopes were crush when new summer signing Anthony Martial went on an excellent solo run, beating Skrtel before converting a cool finish into the far corner to mark his debut in style.

The result meant United moved into second place in the table behind City rivals and pace setters Manchester City.
