No excuses for Juventus poor start - Hernanes

The €11 million signing from Inter has stated that there are no excuses for the club's start to the season. The Serie A champions have made a poor start to the season loosing their two opening matches against Udinese and Roma.

The midfielder however believes the team should be performing better. He also spoke of the team needing more time to gel together.

Following the summer departures of Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo, the team has found it difficult to get going and Hernanes outlined the need for fast improvements:

While speaking to Sky Sport Italia he said:

"If we're talking about the level we play at, then it might take some time to know each other and do things naturally."

"In terms of results there are no excuses and we have to start picking up three points.

"Juve are still the team to beat, we have maintained a strong base and are the strongest team in Italy.

"But we are ready, we have trained well together these last few days. We are in good condition and we're ready."

Hernanes also thinks Juve who won a domestic double of Serie A and Coppa Italia last season and were losing finalists in the Champions can challenge again in Europe's premier club competition, he said:

"At Juve you have to try and win everything so we're definitely one of the favourites."
