Real Madrid 5-0 Real Betis: James Rodriguez and Bale shine

Two goals by the Colombian and Gareth Bale in addition to another from Karim Benzema saw Real Madrid display their attacking prowess in a 5-0 victory over Real Betis on Saturday.

After the opening day draw with Sporting Gijon the Madrid based club rediscovered their scoring touch as they simply took apart Real Betis.

Gareth Bale who has been subject to continued criticism from the Spanish club fans already this season put Madrid ahead in the second minute.

James Rodriguez delivered a fantastic cross and the Welshman duly obliged converting with his head. The Colombian then got on the act himself curling home a wonderful free kick to double his side's advantage.

A neat interplay between Bale and James lead to another goal, this time Karim Benzema was the one to get his name on the scoring sheet.

James got his second of the night with acrobatic effort.

Opponents Real Betis also had an opportunity to score but were thwarted by Keylor Navas in Madrid's goal denying Castro a tap-in.

While the Madrid goalkeeper also denied Ruben Castro a penalty goal shortly after the hour to sum a fruitless evening for Pepe Mel's men.

Bale- who again occupied the number 10 position, this time behind Benzema added a fifth with an impressive long-range drive that diverted in off the upright

Despite having chances, star man Cristiano Ronaldo failed to open his account for the season, despite having the most shots on goal.
